چکیده

Aim: Thyroid fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) performed with ultrasonography is an effective method in diagnosing thyroid cancer. Nevertheless, some of them have non-diagnostic results. The aim to investigate the factors that affect result.
Material and Method: FNABs 361 nodules patients were analyzed retrospectively. divided into two groups as result without non-diagnostic. compared according demographic, clinical sonographic data.
Results: Non-diagnostic rate was 14.4% all biopsies. There no difference terms age, gender, previous surgery history, smoking aspirin use, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, toxic nodule. Sonographic findings glands similar. Only echogenicity nodule found (p=0.015). In post hoc analysis, be caused by hypoechoic (32.7% versus 15.5). It observed significant relationship univariate logistic regression analysis (p=0.009, OR: 3.227, CI: 1.334-7.803) continued multivariate (p=0.024, 3.175, 1.163-8.668).
Conclusion: increases risk rate. Other do not increase
